I am 51 and have been taking HRT for at least 10 years as I was diagnosed as going through an early menopause. I decided that I had been on it long enough and after discussion with my doctor came off it about 6 months ago. Since then I have had tremendous problems sleeping and sweats during the day and about every hour or 2 at night. The night sweats involve a flash, followed by a flush with sweat, a need for a big wee and then a terrible thirst. If I fall asleep downstairs during the evening then I awake with a start very soon after I have fallen asleep with the flash, then the flush but not a need to wee although I have a very large thirst. Is this normal? I have been taking Flaxseed capules 1000mg & Soya Isoflavones since coming off the HRT on the advise of my doctor
I would suggest decreasing gradually the dose of estrogen and progestogen. You should not have stopped them promptly. I would suggest to discuss with your physician and start low dose estradiol and progesterone.
