Suggest Treatment For Numbness After Facial Reconstruction

Hello doctor, I was in a car accident and broke my face in several areas and therefore had a facial reconstruction. My nose and slightly my upper lip remain numb, I don t think I will ever get the full sensation back, can you please tell me what nerve was pinched or what happened there? I am a microbiology degree and almost finished, but due to my traumatic brain injury and all the changes that came with it I had to put school on pause. My point is that I think I will understand what you will say...thank you!!

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns. You may not get the feeling back in your face because there was damage to the trigeminal nerve which is located under the check bone. It may eventually return but more than likely remain numb.
