Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Fingers

Hello I have been an IV meth user for the past three years. Three days ago I was doing an injection on the top of my hand at the wrist. Although I did not feel it I believe I have hit a nerve. By the next day I noticed a decrease in the function of my thumb and first two fingers. I can move them bend them separate them but when I try to use them to do more tedious activities they do not seem to be responding to what my brain is telling them to do. Is this damage permanent? Will it heal on its own or do I need to see a doctor? Generally how long does nerve damage like this take to recover from?

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you have some damage to median nerve due to injury in or near nerve that is why thumb and two nearby fingers are numb as these are supplied by median nerve. At present I think nothing more can be done by surgery. It will recover its own. Mecobalamine will be useful in recovery. You can investigate yourself by nerve conduction test of median nerve. You can consult Hand surgeon Orthopedic surgeon for it. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. You can also write to me directly on below link:
