Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I can assure you that hip replacement is a successful procedure and can be done safely in your mother. Do not worry if your mother has gone through previous surgeries. as it is not going to make any difference.
I think she is taking done for osteoporosis, which she can safely continue, as these drugs will make her bone strong and will provide her good pain relief but hip pain will not be completely gone after these drugs.
So I would suggest you to discuss with a good joint replacement surgeon and plan for hip replacement surgery. If there is any doubt than you can discuss your mother's hip x rays with me also.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks.
