Hi,Doctors,my wife is suffering with osteoartharitis at both knee joints specially more in right knee. Her age is 33 years only, height is 5'2",weight is 68 kgs.
Report of X-ray both knee AP/LAT:-
Early osteoartharitis is likely at both knee joints with spiky tibial spines and patellar marginal osteophytes.
Chondromalacia patellae is also likely.
Jointspaces appear normal.
Exostosis is noted at the medial border of the distal right femur.
knee is commonest joint showing osteoarthritic changes in countries where kneeling and sitting cross-legged is usual practice. Otherwise hip joint osteoarhritis is the commonest one. Chondromalacia in this age group is not common. You have to take life style modification first to relieve pain. Do exercises by walking, biking or swimming. Lose weight by combining changes in their diet with increased exercise. Hot compression and use diclofenac gel over knee. you can take paracetamol 1 gm upto 3 times daily in severe pain.
