Suggest Treatment For Osteoporosis In An Elderly Person

I am 76 years old and have established osteoporosis. My doctor is suggesting I start on Prolia. After reading the information/side effects I have a lot of questions about it. I have taken Boniva plus other similar tablets in the past. Would Boniva or other tablet be a better choice than injections of Prolia? One study said that after stopping Prolia that within 7 - 19 months one was very likely to have a fracture or multiple fractures of the veretbras. Thank you for your opinion.

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I have read and understood your concern.Sorry to hear you are suffering from osteoporosis.
Both prolia and Boniva may be used to treat osteoporosis. All of these drugs do have their side effects.Your Doctor will always evaluate the risks and benefits of these drugs before prescribing.Prolia is known to increase bone mass in women and men with a high risk of bone fracture. I will suggest you take the drug as prescribed by your Doctor and see him for regular checks.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Best regards
