Suggest Treatment For Overlapping Toenail In A 2 Year Old

Hello... my 2 and a half year old has a toe nail, that grows over the top of her old one.. on both of her big toes.. they dont seem to bother her or anything like that.. i seem to cut them and the top layer falls off. Then again in a few weeks/months later a second layer grows again.. is there anything I can? Thank you. Caroline.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If it does not bother her, then don't do anything about it. It is not dangerous. If it starts to irritate her or if it seems infected (painful, red, swollen, warm), then see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
