Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Pain in head, neck and eyes can occur after head injury due to severe thrust movement. It usually subsides with painkillers and on its own. But we have to rule out dangerous head injury. Few signs have to be observed to rule out it

: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
: loss of consciousness more than 5 minutes or decreasing consciousness
: fits
: onset of new focal deficit
: persistent headache not responding to painkillers

If any of above signs, you should consult ER as soon as possible. You will be advised CT head to rule out fracture or brain bleed. Fracture is usually managed by medication while brain bleed may need surgery.

If no above signs, you can follow few tips to relieve pain

: Apply icepacks at injury and swelling site.
: You can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
: You can ask for neck massage or physiotherapy to relieve neck pain and spasm
: Keep your head at higher level than chest
: In case of vomiting, you should turn head to side to prevent aspiration
: you can apply painkiller gel like Diclofenac gel over neck at pain site
: Still no relief, you should consult doctor.

Hope it will help you. Take care.

Thanks.

Hello
You need to see a doctor right away and it doesn't have to be a neurologist.

The goose egg is a hematoma--a pool of blood under the skin--and that by itself isn't worrisome.

But you need skull and neck x-rays to rule out any fractures here
