Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Arm And Shoulders After A Flu Injection
I had a flu shot last Thursday. The next day I could not move my arm (left arm) and there was pain in the top of my arm and shoulder. It has been a week now and there is a little improvement, but I still can t move my arm in certain directions without pain (i.e. lifting to comb hair, lifting arm onto to my desk to work on computer, lifting it to the side more than a foot out, etc. It also is very uncomfortable at night, and it s hard to find a comfortable position with a dull ache. I have tried acetominophen and ibuprofen every day. Is this a common thing with flu shots? I have had a flu shot every year my entire life. I am 63 years old. Should I just wait it out or is there possibly something wrong that would warrant getting an x-ray or something?
Your symptoms seem to be related to side effects of the injection. I suggest using Ibuprofen for the pain. I also recommend using cold compresses for relieving.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
