Hi, I have pain at my waist line above my belly button, my skin has torn areas that heal then come back. I have shown my doctor..she doesn t know what it is. Been almost five years this has been going on. No ultra sound or MRI has been done that I hoped she would approve. I m 70 years old...tired of the pain and all the adhesions at the waist.
HI Well come to HCM Your query and concern highly appreciated, what the history is given here I could say that the chances of hernia is very likely and it can only be diagnosed with clinical examination and imaging studies, in differential diagnosis it may be intestinal pathologies, infection. I would suggest to get done the routine work up that included blood test, imaging studies, some time you may need CT imaging too. Abdomen pain is challenging one for doctor because it contains several organs in it and that may be diseased there could be some pathological changes in them, beside all of these it could be functional one too. hope this information helps.
