Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Right Ear That Radiates To The Neck
I m trying to figure out what is causing my 25 year old daughter s pain and nausea. Symptoms are: pain in right ear radiating down right side of neck and to upper right chest muscles. Also pain in upper right back inside shoulder blade. She feels nausious and weak and is slightly shakey. She is somewhat sensitive to light. Her temp is ok and pulse is 65 beats per minute. She feels small amount of decrease in pain after taking ibuprofen. She has had these episodes of pain and nausea before and we can t identify a trigger. She s physically fit, exercises regularly and has an excellent diet.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Common causes for such symptoms are inner ear infection, allergy etc. So in my opinion, you should definitely take her to ENT doctor and get done clinical examination and MRI of inner ear. She may need antibiotic ear drops, oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs if there is infection. If MRI is normal then possibility of allergic trigger is more likely. So get done detailed allergy testing to identify allergens. Try to avoid allergens to prevent future attacks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
