Suggest Treatment For Pain While Taking Deep Breaths

So i had back surgery in june which caused me to have a blood clot in my leg. I took blood thinners which made the blood clot go away. Last weekend i was having pain when i took deep breaths and had some chest pain which i really started to notice while doing a chest workout, but I was told by a military doc that i had just pulled a muscle from strenuous activity i did the day prior. The pain from deep breathes has subsided and some of the chest pain but still hurts a little to the touch. Am i just freaking out thinking this a blood clot when its really a healing muscle?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a pulled muscle or conditions like costochondritis.

As the first line of management, you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
