I have a painful bump on the outside of my elbow. My hand is numb and I have referred shoulder pain. I ve had a steroid shot and it helped for a week. That was about 8 weeks ago. The pain is significantly worse and constant. I can t straighten my arm. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely olecranon bursitis. But problems like gout should be ruled out. Serum uric acid level should be checked. In case of that uric acid lowering drugs will help you. In case of bursitis anti inflammatory drugs. Injections of corticosteroid triamcinolone locally after aspiration and physiotherapy will help you. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
