I am a healthy 19 year old female, not sexually active. Lately, I have been having pain in the abdominal area & in the uterus area. I should be coming onto my period in 2 days or so I thought I was ovulating but I still haven t felt well in that area. I ve been experiencing the discomfort/pain for 4 days or so. I haven t had any burning when I urinated but I do frequently have to go to the bathroom (although I think it has a direct link to my drinking a lot of fluids). I was getting/feeling a little better but now when I urinate I see really small, black specks in my urine & the pain has localized on the right side of my uterus (or so it feels like). The pain feels like a burning, sore sensation. I am really scared I might have kidney stones or something. I take Aleve to deal with the pain but now it s not really working that well anymore. The pain gets worse when I worry or stress out.
As per my clinical experience, the significant pain lower abdomen and black specks in urine indicate urinary tract infection with or without underlying pelvic inflammation.
Primary relief with
- plenty of liquids - cranberry sachets - analgesic as ibuprofen or paracetamol - urinary alkaliser as potassium citrate - vaginal hygiene
Secondary care needed in terms of
- an antibiotic prescription from your doc - getting evaluated for urine microscopy and ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for cause evaluation and further care.
