Suggest Treatment For Patella Fracture

Hi Dr Rynne! Five years ago I fell and fractured my left patella(fractured into 4 pieces) I had surgery, patella fixed with wire and hardware. Last week happened that to me again. Same left patella ( into 2 pieces). Would like to know Your opinion on it? greetings katarina

Hello Katrina,
I have studied your case and I think if there is fracture of the patella then you will need surgery to fix this fracture and rest at home.
Resting period can continue up to three to six weeks with knee brace on affected side.
I would also suggest you to not to make this treatment delayed as then fracture union will be more difficult.
You would need physiotherapy after this.
