Suggest Treatment For Patellar Tendinitis In The Knee

I took a MRI and found out I have petellar tendinitis in my knee. My left knee is worst and with a reddish pink color and if pushed on, it turns white. I have constant pain no matter what I do. Sitting, driving, walking, going up and down the stairs. I ve had several Cortisone shots along with physical therapy to no avail. Knee Arthroscopy is now being looked at. It looks like I didn t tear or rupture, but I m curious to know with the failed attempts of non-surgical treatment and how bad my knee is now, could therapy or shots help if I tried again, or would surgery be the best bet?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* In the case of non-response to oral therapy, I recommend laser therapy with interventional pain management team where specific frequency waves are targeted towards the inflamed region.

* The further resort of tendon repair or else has to be sorted out with the MRI plates and clinical evaluation findings only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
