Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain it seems that there is recurring infection below the root tip of the abscessed tooth leading to infection and pus formation and formation of dental abscess and many a times the pus perforates the bone and accumulates in the soft tissues leading to a lump over the gums..
You should consult a dentist and get evaluated and an x ray can help in confirming the diagnosis..
As of now he can take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and painkillers like Ibuprofen..
You should get root canal treatment or extraction of the tooth done depending upon the condition of tooth for permanent relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
The pea sized lump Above the tooth is periapical abscess . This occur when infection travel through the tooth and form beside the gum and reach the root of the tooth . This infection form pus there and sometimes make opening through the gum for drainage ,which is known as sinus.

I would suggest you to consult your dentist for proper evaluation. Doctor will order x-ray to look for extent of infection, bone support and root of the tooth .

In mean while you could take Augmentin 625 twice a day & Do warm saline rinses several times a day and take ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for pain and swelling.

Hope your query has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Vivek goyal
