Suggest Treatment For Persistent High Fever In A Child

My 4.5 years old daughter is getting high fever upto 104 F with shivering for last 3 days. She is getting it at interval of 5-6 hours. We gave her combination of meftal p and crocin 1st day followed by mefalgesic DS 2nd day. However, she is still getting the fever. Kindly suggest.

hi, fever for 3 days can be due to upper respiratory tract infection, typhoid, Malaria infection. You should do blood test like complete blood count, typhidot IGM, malarial antigen test. Continue giving paracetamol syrup. you should do the test immediately. Based on above report antibiotic needs to be started. An examination by doctor should be done so that we may not miss any important finding. Take care.
