Suggest Treatment For Persistent Knee Pain While Treating Arthritis In Knee

I broke my fibula on October 29, 2014 and it is not healing properly. I am a 58 years old, not overweight, borderline diabetic only and am active. I ran 30 km per week until 4 years ago when my the arthritis in my knee got so bad I had to stop but I still walk alot and go to the gym a couple of times a week.
Why would the bone not be healing properly?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
Non union of fibula may be due to many reasons 1. lack of bony alignment 2. Interposed soft tissue between fracture fragments 3. Smoking and diabetes 4. Lack of rest to bone . I would advise Xray of involved leg anteroposterior and lateral views to look for present status of fragments. Also arthritis of knee is progressive and is age related. Avoid squatting and cross legged position. Take tab paracetamol 500 mg thrice a day for pain relief . Visit expert orthopaedic surgeon with Xray report.
