Suggest Treatment For Persistent Nausea And Diarrhoea

My 80 year old mother has been feeling ill about every other week. It usually lasts 2-3 days. She says she feels nauseous, feels cold and has diarrhea. At one time we thought she had food poisoning but now we are not sure. She is reluctant to see her doctor since it goes away in a few days.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on your description, what she could be suffering is from 'gastroenteritis'.
Kindly give her the following medications:
1. Tablet. Pantoprazole with Domperidone combination once a day on empty stomach.
2. Tablet. Domperidone 10 mg in case of nausea and vomiting as required (not more than 2 times in a day) and may stop if vomiting subsides.
3. Tablet. Ciprofloxacin with Tinidazole combination twice a day after food for 5 days.
4. Oral Rehydration Solution 200ml thrice daily.
5. Good quantity of fluids, tender coconut water and fruit juices.
She should be alright in about 3 days and recover in about a week time.
All the best.
