Suggest Treatment For Post Nasal Drip, Ear Pain And Inflamed Tonsils
Hello Dr, For the last 2 allergy seasons, I have been having what feels like post-nasal drip that leads to pain in my ears, ear fullness, and what feel like either a mass of mucus or inflammation at the FRONT of my throat (about an inch above where my collar-bone join). I try to swallow to make it go away, but it doesn't go away. I am also experiencing dizziness and a constant foul smell in my nose. There is no green or yellow mucus, but I have red bumps on the back of my throat and my tonsils look inflamed. What do you suggest?
You may be suffering from chronic pharyngitis with rhinitis with post nasal discharge with bilateral eustachian tube blockage. It may be due to allergy induced or infectious or due to post nasal discharge.
Avoid cool drinks, freeze water, and smoking. Use mask in environmental pollution. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
Use humidifier, use montelukast daily at night for two weeks. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your ENT specialist who will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
