my husband is 64 and in great health. in February he had a stress test and passed with flying colors. in april however he was having knee pain and took a Percocet which landed him in the ER due to sudden collapse. A myriad of test were run to no avail. Doctor concluded it was a vagal nerve response to the drug (which he knew from a previous experience, 20 years earlier, that he was sensitive to Percocet). So Percocet was thrown out, and after a one night stay for observation, he came home feeling fine. at 1:30 this morning he goes to the bathroom and then I hear a crash and find him in the bathtub, where he has fallen and he looks asleep. When I go to get him up, he awakens as if he has been asleep and is waking peacefully. he has no idea he is in the tub. when I get him up sitting on the side of the tub, he starts going limp and slides down on the floor, unresponsive. I start trying to wake him up and he finally comes to again remembering nothing except that he got up to go to the bathroom and while standing there urinating, he started getting that feeling . At the beginning of the first episode, he was sweating profusely, skin turned ashen, and he complained of being nauseous, then as it progressed he was staring off into space and was unresponsive before total collapse. At the onset of this episode, he just felt it coming on, and collapsed. After both episodes he awoke not having a clue of the past 2-5 minutes, nauseous, ashen, but most vitals (BP, pulse, and glucose) were normal; O2 levels a little low(86) but a few deep breaths and that was back up in the 90’s. We are 4 hours from our home, and I plan to call his physician when his office opens, but I would surely appreciate any advice or insight you could provide now. thank you, XXXX
