Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Protrusion Of The Sternal End Of The Clavicle
The end of my right clavicle (where it would attach to the sternum) is noticeably larger than the left and protrudes to the extent that people notice and ask me about it. . .this has all been developing for about a year now. I feel no pain, am 61 years old, slender, and practice yoga.
For the protrusion this must be the anatomical position taking changes as the biomechanical movements are performed with different stress and strain over the muscle of the chest.
I will advice you to do deep breathing exercises while placing the hand over the SC joint as the breathing pattern will help the alignment of the SC joint in the normal anatomical position.
Usually there is no such protrusion but if noticed one which isn't leading may trouble like pain or difficulty in breathing than should be ignored.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
