I want to review the symptoms of pulmonary hypertension, but did not see it under the Health A-Z index. (I m having more fluid retention in both legs, & some in my face. Was diagnosed two years ago, & the CPAP helped, but I quit using it last October. Am seeing my cardiologist soon, but just wanted to read up on pul. hypertension. Thanks!
Hi welcome to HCM. I understand your query and concern. Pulmonary hypertension in your case needs effective therapy to prevent right heart failure.CPAP is an excellent option to prevent any such catastrophic changes.Beside you also require following changes. I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is pretty useful.Drugs like antihypertensives and antiarrhythmics will help.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried food.One pomegranate a day will help to keep your heart at good pace without clot formation.
