Suggest Treatment For Random Bruises On The Thigh And Buttocks
Hi there! Just wanted to enquire about these random bruises I have been experiencing lately mainly on my upper thigh area. I also noticed that I have a few small pea sized ones on my buttock and some similar coin sized ones on my arms (they are all quiet tender when touched). It s only been the past couple weeks I ve started to notice them appearing with no actual event of accidentally bumping into things to cause these bruises. I ve also recently started up exercising, taking fish oil tablets and i work as an airhostess. Can any of these factors contribute towards my abnormal bruising? Many thanks Elise
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, you are having a fungal infection called as tinea corporis. My treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply an anti-fungal cream like Clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral Fluconazole, Itraconazole, and Terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
