Follow up visit with sleep doctor today. He was concerned about my red arms and asked if I had been in the sun. I told him no, try to stay out of it. He said it looked like a rash, did it itch. I said no. I have had this come and go for years, especially during a hot flash.
Hi. As per your case history you are having solar erythema. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
