hi, my son is 14 and has downs syndrome, among other health issues. what concerns me at the moment is he sleep unusally long today and awoke with a severe rash over his face and behind his ears (it looks as if he has tiny blood blisters all over). also, his left ear apears to be bruising/turning purple and then to black. this ear was the ear he had a tyhmpanplasty on back in october. Is one connected to the other, beings it has been almost a year since the surgery? I have done numerous searches this afternoon looking for anything and have found nothing remotely close. Please give advice.
The only connection that comes to my mind would be a reaction to a medication that he might take to support the post-surgery healing process? But bruising, blood blisters can also be a bacterial skin condition he caught in hospital when he was there for his tyhmpanplasty. A swab test should tell if bacteria cause the problem.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
