I get reoccuring bladder infections at least once a month and usually I control them with antibiotics, cranberry tablets, home made cranberry juice, hiprex, ural and a lot of water. Recently they have been a lot more painful and nothing except for the antibiotics help. About 5 days ago I finished a 10 day course of antibiotics and I already have another bladder infection more painful than the last one. I have been booked in for an ultra sound on my bladder and my kidneys but until then I have to figure out how to deal with them but I don t know what else to try, I can t even get to sleep due to the pain.
Hello and thank you for your question! Your urinary tract includes: kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra. A UTI can affect any part of your urinary system. In most cases of UTIs, the bacteria enter the urinary system through the urethra, and then multiply in the bladder.UTIs are almost always caused by the bacteria Escherichia coli. The risk factors of UTIs include : Abnormalities of urinary tracts,Incomplete bladder emptying,History of urinary tract surgery etc. I would suggest you to do a Urinary Tract Ultrasound, and a urine exam Culture. And the antibiotics treatment must be based on the Antibiogram results! Best regards!
