Hi,

Frontal lobe is the largest among the four lobes present in the brain. Other lobes are parietal, temporal and occipital. Frontal lobe is located right behind your forehead which makes them prone for injury during accidents. Frontal lobe controls many important functions in our body from movements, communications to social behaviour. This lobe is divided into right and left portion. The functions are voluntary movements, language, memory, behaviour, planning, reasoning, speech, fine movements, etc.

Injury to the lobe results is changes in social behaviour, difficulty in fine tasks, planning, initiation of activities, become speech less, poor problem solving and emotional control, etc. Management of the frontal lobe injury includes psychological therapy to control the social behaviour, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, vocational therapy, physical therapy for better movements, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
