Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps In Throat And Runny Nose

46yr old, 170lbs, Suffer from chronic pain. Tonight about 5 min after eating, I started vomiting. Since this was in an establishment I didn t want to make a big deal out of it. But there was small traces of blood coming up when I coughed. Once I arrived home I noticed that the back of my throat had various size red bumps. I do take allergy pills but have a constant runny nose and drainage from the nasal. I plan to go to the Dr in the AM, but want to make sure this isn t an emergency that should make me go now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using a mucolytic syrup to treat the cough. I recommend drinking liquids and rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
