Suggest Treatment For Respiratory Tract Infection

Hi! I am currently suffering from constantly coughing up light yellow phlegm, and a stuffy nose - though my eyes aren t watery and I m not sneezing, etc so it doesn t feel like a cold. Occasionally I feel a bit tired. Last week I had a very snotty - dark yellow - nose which would also lightly bleed and was itchy. (It reminded me of a time I used to work with a printer who used harsh chemicals on his machine, and my nose would itch and bleed). Do you have any ideas what is going on, and if it may be contagious? I live in QLD Australia - we have just hit autumn. No known allergies, though I have only been in QLD 2 years. Thanks! Leigh

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of a sinus infection. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and performing a sinus X-ray. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
