Suggest Treatment For Serum Trigycerides 180

hello my dad 70 years of age has gone through by pass surgery march this year .....checked his lipid profile today serum cholestrol is 158, serum trigycerides is 180 hdl is 42 ldl is 80 vldl is 36. All are in normal range except serum trigycerides its range is upto 160 . what do u suggets?

Thanks for asking to Healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.If I was your physician,would suggest initially dietary modifications like limit high carbohydrates,fats and daily mild physical activity. According to me,medications(Fibrate class drugs like gemfibrozil,orlistat) are not needed at present which can be tried,when triglyceride levels are very high.I also would advise to monitor the lipid profile and get opinion with your treating doctor.Hope I have answered your query.If any further questions,happy to answer you
