Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain With Nausea And Fever

I ve had upper middle abdominal pain for 4 days worse in the evening sometimes radiating to the right side, worse after eating, low grade temp ranging between 99.0-99.5 nausea diarrhea. Should I go to the urgent care as I was told that I have gallstones after having a CT scan showing appendicitis

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of upper middle abdominal pain, worse in the evening and after eating, low grade fever, nausea. You had a CT scan which showed gall stones and appendicitis.
You have not mentioned anything about surgery hence I take it as a case where there can be appendicitis as well as cholecystitis meaning inflammation of the gall bladder.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get an ultrasonography done to know the recent status and if inflammation of either the gall bladder or the appendix is seen, get operated to permanently get cured off the problem.
Both can be operated simultaneously with the advent of a laparoscopy.
Till then get other tests of blood including liver function tests, amylsae, lipase and so on.
Any additional treatment be treated as per the reports and the clinical condition.
