Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started having pain in my right arm that travels down from my neck, back, arm to my hand after I took my blood pressure in my left arm. My BP was on the high side 150/88. The pain is severe and I get no relief from ice, Advil or biofreeze. It also worsens when I lay down.
Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic. After going through your query I concluded that you are suffering from acute pain pain in your right arm . Its cause can bedisc prolapse of cervical spine or cervical spondylitis . MRI cervical spine will be helpful in diagnosis. However I treat most of my patients empirically by below mentioning methods on clinical grounds only on the line of disc prolapse. Heat and analgesics are soothing. Diclofenac/ibuprofen can be effective but in this condition pain is severe so sometimes tramadol is given. Pain relief may take few weeks. Rest to cervical spine(neck) is most important till pain is relieved. Cervical collar can be used to prevent unguarded movements. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Wishing you good health. Take care.
