Suggest Treatment For Severe Dysmenorrhea And Irregular Periods
Hello doctor! I am a student. I am suffering from severe dysmenorrhea and irregular periods. In my ultrasound report it has been highlighted that in my uterus endometrium is thickened, rightovary and leftovary has enlarged and multiple small follicles are seen. Please prescribed me treatment and medicine.
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. Dysmenorrhea is usually associated with ovulatory cycles; anovulatory cycles are often painless. The sonogram report must be correlated with the phase of the menstrual cycle when it was taken. In the preovulatory phase, there are developing follicles visible while in the premenstrual phase the endometrium is sufficiently thick. If the endometrial thickness at any stage is more than 11 mm., in the non-pregnant state, unopposed estrogen action should be considered. Further management can be done accordingly. You can use antispasmodic prior to the onset of the period up to the second or third day until you get relief from the pain. Any infections should be promptly treated. Stress should be relieved. Healthy lifestyle should be adopted. Hope this helps.
