Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain Of A 11 Year Old

My 11 yr old niece was in a car with her older sister and friends. The older kids turned the music up very very very very loud. Now my 11 yr. old niece is crying that her ears hurt. She is leaving early in the morning on a plane. What can I do to help her with the pain.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi..loud noise can cause damage to the ears. Does she respond to the command and sounds normally? Is she having difficulty in hearing? In aeroplane you can ask her to keep chewing gum to balance the pressure inside and outside the ear. If you feel that she has decreased hearing then she will need detailed hearing assessment.
