Hi, I had my third c section 14 weeks ago, I'm 30 years old and I've been suffering from crippling indigestion which can only be relieved by vomiting, I'm in agony for up to 3 hours at a time, 2 to 3 times a week i've tried gaviscon and ranitidine, i've cut out wheat and dairy, neither affect it, i dont drink caffeine. I'm worried. Thanks Aimey
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Crippling indigestion that can be cured only by vomiting indicates that you may have one of the following problems. Gastric outlet obstruction. Small intestinal obstruction. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get a Barium meal study for stomach and small intestine. Upper GI Endoscopy. Clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon to correlate the investigations reports to get a final diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done. Also get tests of stool, blood and urine. Any other tests as may be advised by the Doctor. You may need a proper course of an antibiotic is there is any evidence of infection. Continue Gaviscon and Ranitidine. Go for liquid diet.
