Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe knee pain. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like injury , baker's cyst , fracture , ligament or meniscus injury . I would suggest you to take proper rest , do not walk o move your knee much , apply cold compresses for 48 hours after injury and then apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor will order X-ray ,or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may give plaster along with anti inflammatory and muscle relaxant . Doctor may recommend surgery in severe injury .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
