Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is unlikely for accident before 2 years to cause your current knee problem. Current problem is likely related to your weight gain with stress on knee. Buckling and imbalance may be due to ligament injury in the knee.

I would like to advise MRI of the involved knee joint to check for ligament and meniscus pathology. Please get it done from radiology center nearby you. Meanwhile wear knee brace. If pain is severe take tablet Ultracet P twice a day can be taken. Visit to orthopedic surgeon for detailed clinical examination is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza, Orthopedic Surgeon
