Suggest Treatment For Severe Neck And Shoulder Pain

For the past week or so, I ve been having pressure on the left side of my neck and my left shoulder down to my elbow have been feeling slightly numb. I went to the VA clinic and they said it was nothing and it should go away shortly . I m hoping you can tell me what it is or if it really is nothing. Thanks for your time and assistance.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to an upper back muscle strain. If it is muscle strain then over the counter analgesics like motrin (ibuprofen) and hot fomentation for short term will be helpful to getting relief. If there is more neck stiffness then problems like cervical spondylosis should be ruled out. In such case a consultation with an orthopedician is well appreciated. Muscle relaxants , NSAIDs for short term will help also. If this lasts long term then physiotherapy is recommended.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
