Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Numbness In The Arm

I have been having severe pain,cramping,and numbness in my right arm for 3 or 4 days the pain is not controlled by perforce 10..I have 5 herniated disc just in my neck found on am mri less than a year ago..I have also had 2 huge blood clots in my right leg the last one only 3 months ago. My coumidin dosage is 10mgs a day but my levels have not gotten to therapeutic yet. .last week it was 2.0...skid I schedule am appointment for next week or are there certain things I should watch cost that would warrant am ER visit?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain and numbness in the arm . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis ,cervical radiculopathy , disc problem ,tendinitis , brusitis or shoulder or shoulder joint problem . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to neck and arm . give proper rest to your arm and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon if condition is not getting well . Gentle massage with flax seed oil will be helpful. Doctor may order CT scan or MRI of shoulder joint , back and neck . Doctor may recommend particular stretching exercises along ith physical therapy . Doctor may also recommend muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for nervous disorder .
