Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having sever pain on my anus for several weeks. The pain is almost unbearable and it's especially painful when going to the bathroom. I went to the doctor last week and he said it was a anal fissure. He prescribed me some type of compound that doesn't seem to be helping. Today when I was applying the cream I noticed a small pea sized bead on the inside of my my anus. When I touched it it seems to be the spot that all my pain is coming from. Do you have any idea what it could be. Any help please
Hello Severe pain around ( on anus ) anus may be due to these possibilities , these include: 1 Hemorrhoids or piles ,as you mentioned that there is pea sized swelling on the anus , so this may be hemorrhoid . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by another physician . 2 The next reason of such pain and swelling may be due to anal fissure . Again physical examination will be helpful. In fissure patient feel excruciating pain . 3 Pyoderma or ingrown hair infection may be the another reason . In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion as physical examination is important in such type of cases. Good luck.
