Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Under The Left Rib

i am having severe pain under my left rib, doc said it was from gas and said it would pass. the pain is terrible, hurts to cough and laugh. under my left rib is so tender i can not touch it. had xray done and came back normal. what can i do to get rid of this and wht can i do to never get it again. i have frequent flare ups and sometimes it travels up my chest and then it really hurts, like my heart is beating out of my chest, goes away in like 60 seconds, but paralyzes me while its up there. please help

After going through your query I concluded that you may be having pleurisy as you are having pain during cough and laugh.It is inflammation of covering of lung. You had excluded other causes by x ray chest. Treatment of it is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery. It can also be muscular pain .Treatment of it similar to pleurisy i.e.irest and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery.It is not possible to get rid for ever as it generally occur every time a fresh incidence. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.
