Suggest Treatment For Severe Spasms And Numbness In Hands And Arms
Hello.I ve been experiencing numbness in both hands and arms for about 2 months now. My doctor said that it is caused from severe muscle spasms. I ve recently noticed that my legs are a little weak feeling.I ve had blood work done multiple times in the past could months and everything has come back find. Is it possible that I have HIV?
Dear patient Numbness in both hands with spasm could be possible due to 1. Vitamin B12 deficiency 2. Cervical disc prolapse. If it's vitamin B12 deficiency it's in all four limbs tingling and numbness. And if it's disc prolapse it leads to pain with tingling and numbness in both upper limbs. So possibly vitamin deficiency is more likely. You need to get tested for serum levels of vitamin B12. If it's less take Injection of vitamin B12 1500 mcg on alternate day for 3 days and then weekly for 6 months. If it's normal you require mri of cervical spine with screening of whole spine to rule out disc prolapse. Please consult expert orthopaedic surgeon with report.
