Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Bloating After Eating
I am a 50 year old male and my stomach swells up after eating, bloating. I also wake up at night and I feel my food is in my throat. I have to lay sitting up so I dont feel i am gagging. at this time I am taking prilosec but it doesn t seem to work.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe stomach bloating after eating. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, intolerance to dairy products or other food items, eating too fast, and due to overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel. Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. I would suggest you to avoid food like dairy products , drink warm water , do light exercises and eat light and non spicy food. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers, proton pump inhibitor along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
