Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On almost a daily basis my body will feel very bloated, as if there is an excess of water in my stomach and throughout my system. This does not happen every day, but does occur on a regular basis. I don t think I do anything differently on days that it happens, and it doesn t really seem to affect much other than being uncomfortable. Any ideas of what is going on?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Your history says you feel too much bloated as if there is an excess of water in stomach and throughout your system. This is due to excessive fluid in the third space in the body and called edema. You need an evaluation for the cause to get a proper diagnosis. If you are a female patient the cause can be taking hormonal medicines either as oral contraceptive pills or for some other disease. Hypothyroidism is another important reason. Anemia and hypo-proteinemia can cause this. Kidney problems and heart disease also can cause such problems.
I would advise a detailed clinical examination and the blood and urine tests as per the diseases enumerated.
