Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes, I have upper back pain every day unless I sit in a chair all day. It usually happens after I ve been on my feet for about 1 1/2. This has been going on for 20 years since my back surgery of a fusion of L4 and L5. However, that area of my back doesn t bother me. The pain is just below shoulder blades. One doctor told me nothing was wrong. My old back doctor retired.
Back pain is a very common problem, in your case as you said you had surgery quite a long before and it doesn’t bother you at that site instead it hurts near shoulder blades on standing for long hours. It looks like its related to posture mostly. I would suggest you make sure you keep your posture straight while walking or while doing a work that needs to stand for more time.
It is advisable to take breaks in between rather than standing in the same position for a long time, take rest for a while and then resume your work. you can see a physiotherapist and get help in this with some stretching exercises as your doctor has told you not to worry as he might have done a physical examination and then advised you so.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
