Suggest Treatment For Severe Vomiting And Fever In A Child

My daughter is 8 months old. She had temperature of 100.2 last night which subsided when we gave her crocin at 11pm. But she vomitted twice between 3 am and 4:30 am. Then at 9 am she again had temperature of 100.6. Again that has subsided after giving her crocin. Though she is active now, she is not active as usual. Today being off day for docs, should I take her to emergency room?

Hello,

The symptoms of the child seem to be related to enterovirosis. I suggest giving her an electrolyte solution such as Pedialyte. I also suggest to give her probiotics. If the vomit continue, I recommend to go at the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
