Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pains In Chest After Being Hit There Hard

I was hit in the chest very hard with a shoulder. Now i have none stop sharp pains and shortness of breath in that area of my chest. Bending down to pick up anything brings a very sharp pain. Also things such as applying deoderant and raising my arms brings about the same pain. What could have happened to cause such affects? What should I do?

Thanks for your question on HCM. .
You are having blunt chest trauma. And the complications of this are as follows.
1. Rib fractures
2. Pulmonary contusions
3. Pneumothorax
4. Muscular injury.
Since you are having breathlessness, chances of pneumothorax are high.
So better to get done chest x ray to rule out above possible complications.
If chest x ray is normal than you mostly have muscular injury only.
So for better symptomatic releief try to follow these steps.
1. Avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
3. Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
5. Wear chest belt to avoid mobilisation of affected area.
