Suggest Treatment For Soft Tissue Mass In Fossa Of Rosenmuller

Hello, My name is Kaylear, I am 6 4 and weigh 240, I will be 69 next month. My doctor tells me that I have a soft tissue mass right Fossa of Rosenmuller. She said we would do a biopsy of the mass, but being in this area she was almost certain it was cancer. And she said if it was her she would not have any radiation or cemo, or surgery at my age. So Dr. I guess what I am asking you would this be your feeling. I thank-you very much, I am very much troubled over this, but do I know I am not going to be around for ever and know I can accept death. Thank-you again

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The mass located in Rossenmullar fossa is known to be more likely a cancerous in nature. But when you mention it to be soft. There is possibility of it being a retention cyst in nasopharynx. Confirmation is possible only after biopsy so your doctor has advised rightly. Please follow his advice.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
